Sister Maureen Fay, president emerita of the College of Detroit Mercy, died on Might 27. She was 87. She served as president of the college from its founding, in 1990, till 2004.
Frederick S. Humphries, former president of Florida A&M College, died on June 24. He was 85.
Richard C. Lewontin, a professor emeritus of biology at Harvard College, died on July 4. He was 92.
David Michaels, a professor of linguistics on the College of Connecticut, died on Might 26. He was 83.
Roger Oettli, a monetary officer at a number of universities, final on the College of Washington, died of issues from most cancers on Might 15. He was 70.
Marilyn Schlack, president of Kalamazoo Valley Neighborhood Faculty from 1982 to 2018, died on June 22. She was 85.

Deborah Swackhamer, a former professor of environmental chemistry and public affairs and director of the Water Assets Science Program on the College of Minnesota-Twin Cities, died on June 23. She served on the Science Advisory Board to the Worldwide Joint Fee and the U.S. Environmental Safety Company’s Science Advisory Board, and was chair of the EPA’s Board of Scientific Counselors till dismissed by the Trump administration, in 2017.
