In partnership with the U.S. Company for Worldwide Improvement (USAID), worldwide mayors and municipal leaders will journey to the USA to develop motion plans to strengthen democracy of their house communities with U.S.-based consultants, starting from American native authorities officers to technical specialists to civil society leaders and organizations. This change, often known as the Summit for Democracy Worldwide Customer Management Program (IVLP) builds on the December 2021 Summit for Democracy and helps the 12 months of Motion resulting in the second Summit for Democracy in 2023.
The IVLP members embody mayors and municipal leaders from Argentina, Botswana, The Gambia, Germany, Indonesia, Eire, Italy, Republic of Kosovo, Mozambique, Philippines, Poland, Slovakia, and South Africa. The mayors will start their in-person program right this moment with consultations in Washington, D.C., adopted by conferences in Denver, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona. The municipal leaders will start their in-person program in early July and can meet with counterparts in Kalamazoo, Michigan, San Antonio, Texas, and Los Angeles, California.
On the conclusion of their time in the USA, members will proceed this system just about from their house communities and full their Motion Plan initiatives in November. Motion Plans will deal with the Summit’s precedence points: strengthening democracy and defending towards authoritarianism; combating corruption; and selling respect for human rights.
