Russian President Vladimir Putin has addressed a Victory Day parade in Moscow’s Crimson Sq., saying that his forces in japanese Ukraine are “defending the motherland”.
He informed crowds that the invasion of Ukraine – what he referred to as a “particular navy operation” – was essential and had been provoked by the West.
However Mr Putin didn’t make any main announcement referring to the battle, together with declaring victory or a full-scale mobilisation.
The annual Victory Day is among the most vital holidays within the Russian calendar and commemorates the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945.
Parades have been happening in 28 cities throughout Russia, involving 65,000 individuals and a pair of,400 gadgets of navy {hardware}.
